The City of Troy is located in Oakland County, a suburb to the north of Detroit, Michigan. The Detroit area is an important business region with high end office centers and world class shopping complexes, such as Somerset Collection, fine dining and vast open parkland spaces. Troy Historical Museum offers visitors to the area an insight into the development of the city using ten lovingly preserved original, historic buildings from the time of the first settlers. The archival records of the early history of the area are available for research and are invaluable along with the 18th and 19th Century exhibits to be found in the museum. The museum is open all year and special programs and events are held during the year to bring the history to life.
